What would you like to see
We all have different opinions, which is great - if we all liked the same things, the world would be a super boring place!
A lot of us don't like certain things about the current Rolex line-up, for example there's some of us here who don't like the modern Daytona, so, let's come up with what we would like to see instead I'll start: I can't stand the modern Air King. So - I'd propose a complete redesign to make it a proper, crazy pilot's watch with large arabic numerals, a larger, more legible dial, some fancy pressure-resistance tech similar to IWC, maybe even with a day/date function and a GMT hand, but all done very subtly, no garish colours. Perhaps, something along the lines of my terrible quick mockup: Would need better legibility and a thinner bezel, but, the premise of a pilot's watch is there What would you like to see? Those of you that don't like a current model, what would you like to see Rolex do instead? Just a bit of fun :) |

Rolex offers me everything I need in a watch - but I would love a grand complication Rolex in Platinum, day/month/year/time reserve/moon-phase .. a complication watch is what I’d love Rolex to release ..
Simple things like solid sub-dials on Daytona all models giving more link to Daytona of old , with modern twist .. I’d also like a Titanium Submariner with ice blue dial , ice blue bezel …

Are we conjuring up models we would just “like to see” or a specific model that we will definitely purchase?

I was sat here thinking there is too much bickering on here about what people don’t like. So I wanted to get us thinking about what we do like instead and just have a play with it :) |

What would you like to see
Nothing too model specific from me, but I’d prefer if the models could reduce in size slightly, more toward their 5 digit sizes/bracelets.
All watches should come with some form of glidelock adjustability - even if just a mini-glidelock. Oysterflex straps available to purchase as an option to allow strap changes time to time. |

I want to see more transparent case backs and better finishing of movements. Like Lange does.

Not to be boring...
But I'd be happy with just more availability of stainless pro models. There are about 2 I would buy as is before wanting anything different. I do agree with the OP that the AK is a bit lost. I love the corporate colors, but it's ethos is much more land racing speedometer than aviation or "air". I'd love to see a 24 hour hand with the 24 hour "zulu time" scale on the rehaut (not bezel) and Arabic numbers. |

For a more serious response, I would not mind seeing some color variation in the SS Submariner lineup.

I just want case chamfers and lug holes back :)
Maybe a Sub with those features along with a matte dial and painted instead of applied markers and aluminum bezel insert. But keep the modern clasp with GlideLock and the new style unidirectional bezel functionality (feels much nicer than the old click spring style IMO) |

Most of my wants are nit picky
Smaller clasp on the Submariners. I love the redesign of the 12xx, but the clasp is a bit large for my liking. It’s definitely not a deal breaker, but I just prefer the previous gen clasp). Since you mentioned the Daytona … I wish they could sort out sub dials like the Zeniths of old. I just can’t unsee them I also wish they could improve the dial legibility. The GMT is pretty much perfect to my eyes. I used to rail on about adding a smaller glidelock clasp to this reference, and maybe I’d still like if they did. The easylink works pretty well for me, and the clasp is much nicer than the Submariner. Speaking of clasps … an on the fly adjustable Day Date clasp would make me a buyer Off the top of my head, I think that’s it (for now) |

Add the coin edge bezel of the new 1908, a presidential bracelet, and some tweaks to the dial such as stick indices with lume, I'd be a buyer.

As watch and Rolex fans, we can think of numerous tweaks we’d make to the models, cases, dials, etc.
Rolex would look at this list and probably think “if and when our watches aren’t the most coveted consumer product on Earth, maybe then we’ll consider it”.

Blue Pelagos 39 is high on my wish list, and T-fit Clasps on all Black Bay Models. Plus, I feel like with the Black Bays- standardize on the METAS movement and t-fit clasp.
From a Rolex standpoint- smaller glidelock clasp across all models vs the easy link which I find is too much space for me. |

I’d like to see a 37 mm Sub and/ or GMT. I feel like Rolex is behind the times when it comes to their female customers. There is a reason that the only watches readily available for sale are ladies models. Most women I know like fashion watches like Michael Kors or Michelle. Rolex needs to get with the times and merge fashion with Mechanical expertise.

Rolex design by committee sounds like a terrible idea but I wouldn’t mind seeing a titanium Deepsea variant.
