My two Submariners

Both well loved and well worn. the 114060 gets more wear nowadays but I have to say, the 14060m is supremely comfortable and in terms of dimensions is just about perfect.

My wrist for reference is small, slightly under 6.5" I think.

I once read on here someone said regarding these two watches; the 114060 is the better watch, the 14060m is the better Submariner. I think that sums it up nicely

Love my 114060, can safely say it's the only watch I've ever had that I'd never get rid off. Love the maxi case.

Both look great - it is why I think the 12s are the best of both worlds.

Bravo !!
I agree, I chose 14060M and 116610 LN I prefer the 5 lines but the evolution of the ceramic (114 or 116) deserves to be in the collection

Looks great. I have the 114060.

I probably prefer my GMT BLNR, but I’m never getting rid of either, so it’s a moot point.

Love the modern, more finished look of the most recent iterations of the Rolex offering. Recently, however, I got taken captive by the functional tool watch aesthetic of the two line Sub and the turn of the century Explorer II. Visible lug holes, smaller dial indices (smaller than my Pepsi), visible adjustment holes on the clasp, aluminum bezel, two lines of text, and utilitarian integration of the fliplock have drawn me in. I like the more mechanical look of the design. The 14060M is a very clean and neat looking watch for those looking for such a thing. Currently looking to get a similar set up on an Explorer II from the same era. Good luck to you, OP.

Congratulations on a beautiful pair of watches, but if I can ask, what made you buy the same watch twice? (I understand that they come from different eras).

I have a Submariner (124060) but wouldn't consider an older variant or if it ever came on the market an updated one, instead I would go for a Sub date on one of the watches rather than two that look identical, but that's me.

It's interesting how each one has its own appeal. The comfort and dimensions of the 14060m sound perfect for your wrist size. And that comparison between the two watches makes a lot of sense - the 114060 being the better watch overall, but the 14060m holding a special place as the classic Submariner. It's great to hear your insights on them

A beautiful pair of Subs OP.
I enjoy a similar pair and would never part with either.
