Fast overhaul turn around through RSC Dallas - 14 days from estimate back to me.
I recently picked up a Daytona 116509 and the watch needed a service. It wouldn’t keep time with the chronograph running, so figured a trip to the RSC was in order. The bezel showed a fair bit of wear, so thought I’d get that replaced to freshen up the watch.
I got my repair estimate through my local dealer in June 5. Got a call today from my AD saying that my watch was ready to pick up. Just 14 days later! I was so surprised, I’ve never had a watch serviced at an RSC with that fast a turn around. And the watch looks absolutely beautiful! Thank you RSC Dallas and Kiefer Jewelers! This 17 year old Daytona looks brand new!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Beautiful watch! Enjoy it.
My DJ41 recently went through RSC Dallas as well. Turnaround was under a month. I was surprised given what is often cited online.

That is super fast. They were at 4 weeks on Datejusts pre-Covid and as I recall Daytonas were longer because at that time they all went to the east coast for service.

My wife’s 16600 took six weeks going through my AD in San Diego.

Fast overhaul turn around through RSC Dallas - 14 days from estimate back to me.
Quote:
$1,800 for the chronograph service including new pushers and crown (didn’t need the new pushers and crown, but it was recommended so I did it). Just under $1,800 for the new bezel. It was all surely worth it for me as there are no questions or issues I have to worry about, plus it looks about as good as new to me. On a side note, I had one of my wife’s watches (Datejust) serviced through another nearby AD’s internal Rolex service department recently. It was not through one of the big RSCs. It took over two months through that route to get the watch back. The watch was serviced beautifully as well, but it took way longer than my Dallas RSC experience with the Daytona. Thanks for the nice comments, folks! It’s fun to share things like this with you! While I was at my AD, I got a chance to try on the new 40mm Explorer. I really liked it. Asked them to put me on a list for one. Hopefully my luck with getting things done quickly will hold up! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It looks great!
That is an unheard of turnaround for the work - maybe ask AD or RSC if they did a movement swap? A full overhaul would mean the watch has been thoroughly tested over a couple of days after the work is finished, and then inspected by quality assurance technicians. Perhaps @Bas or another Rolex certified watchmaker can put me right - but I'd say bench + QA would a week alone. If Dallas has such a low backlog then a RIF could be coming. Looks really good. Did the original bezel look the same, or did they replace it with the new style? I think it had hashes instead of little triangles? Maybe I'm remembering wrong.
Also, can you tell it's been polished? Always curious to see how much material they removed. Regardless--your end result looks amazing! |
