Best everyday Rolex ?

Hello All,

I want to buy a Rolex that can be worn everyday (at my job, outside, at the beach, during events with a suit, etc).
What would you suggest as the best Rolex to do so ?

I already checked some of them (DJ36/41, AK and YM40) but it's quite a hard choice!
I insist that I only want (and can...) buy only one :)

Thanks!

Most popular answer is going to be a Sub or GMT. For me I use my black Daytona for daily.

A stainless Sub would be my choice.

The one on your wrist

They're all great and will survive 99.9% of things you throw at it, aside from maybe a fire or being ran over by a truck. I know guys who do the gardening (yardwork to the Americans) in their Daydate.

For me, out of what I own, I'd say the BLNR GMT Master or the Explorer I

I wore the GMT Master for many years as an (almost daily) & recently picked up a 36mm Explorer & I'm having a hard time getting that little Explorer off my wrist!

Of course, a sub would also work for everyday, I just don't own one yet, lol.

Most comfortable Rolex with date function and timing bezel ( with I use every day)

This YM40 blue , but PCL and PT bezel not for everyone.
Next for me SS GMT on jubilee.
Better comfort OP,explorer, Daytona, but i need date and timing.

Depends on job or activities

Omega-Seamster-Professional.jpgEverydasy for one person won't be the same for oanother because it depends on your daily job or activities.

I can't imagine a plumber would wear the same daily watch as a lawyer, if they did I probably need a new plumber

So I have various Seiko for daily wear, and Omega and Rolex for weekends or other ocassions.

Are you buying for function or fashion?

If it’s for fashion, the Explorer I. Perfect for every occasion with every outfit and never looks out of place.

If you really use your watch eg date, GMT function etc the answer is different.

If you want only one, then I would say stainless steel. All Rolex watches have good water resistance so swimming and daily life won’t be a problem. Do you need a date? I do for a daily. I also like a rotating bezel so I can time things. So for myself, yachtmaster, GMT or sub are the options.

GMT with the polished centre links imo feels a little more special. I’m happy to loose 200m water resistance to gain a GMT hand function for travelling.

My vote, BLNR on oyster.

This is an excellent question and one that should always be asked in threads like this.

Everyone carries a phone these days that can show and do everything a wristwatch could. But are you the type that likes to pull out your phone and check the time, date, etc?

I am not, so at a minimum my only watch would need a date as I check that on my watch constantly. Beyond that I find the GMT function to be the most useful and also doesn't make a watch dial so busy as to clutter it or make it hard to read. So a great Rolex daily for me would be a Sub Date or GMT Master.

But if you are the type that doesn't need all that on your watch and don't mind checking your phone, I would also include an Explorer I or Submariner.

Tough but considering the criteria, I’m going to say a GMT/Sub. Only because you have a date window and timing bezel in a very sporty yet durable package.

Daytona - Go big or go home. Absolutely best watch for everything, never too casual, never too formal...

A black dial Submariner, i.e. no date (my preference). Many might say this is a boring choice, but the Sub is an incredibly verstatile watch, and I´ve worn mine with all manner of attire, nobody has ever bothered about it. And a Sub will take almost anything you can throw at it! At least mine has...

For a daily, I'd prefer a Professional model in steel, so an Explorer, Submariner or GMT if I need date and 24h hand (black bezel as an everyday watch but discontinued).
