£15-20k (GBP) budget what do you buy.
Got some money burning a hole in my pocket.
If you had this budget what would you want to add to the collection? |

Is your current collection still comprised of the watches listed in your bio?
Towards the end of last year I added a nearly new AP RO Diver to my small collection (top end of your budget) and I’m still loving it. I’d experienced many different Rolex watches previously as well as a Tudor and an IWC pilot and am loving the step up in finishing. Great time to be shopping now versus over the past few years as your budget will go much further if looking used. Enjoy the hunt, Niki Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Doesn't matter what I'd buy. I'm just a stranger on the internet.
What do YOU want to buy with that money? If you don't know. Don't spend it on a watch. Or, if you don't want it, send it to me, I'll gladly spend it lol |

I would buy something that is around that price range at MSRP or grey like a CHNR or a GRNR. I have a Pepsi and I like it but I can't see how anyone could pay the grey going rate and be happy with their purchase.

Interesting thought as I am having the same question to myself and same budget, although I would likely PX my watch plus cash on top but still the same budget overall.
I have a BLNR jubilee, could be consideration that model I am thinking panda 116 ref which is about 22k ish cheapest I think, a YM42 yellow gold oysterflex again slightly over budget but another consideration Pepsi jubilee I had for a day and changed to BLNR as the red wasn’t for me, |

At the top end of that budget I’d be buying a pre owned yellow gold submariner

If going grey, I think blue sky dwellers are a good buy the now. Should be able to pick a nice one of those up for £17-18k.
Or a YM40 RG Oysterflex. One of those can be had for about £20k.

It sounds like you don't want anything. In your situation I'd keep the money and wait until something sang to me.

Love the mixed opinions. Just thought I'd throw it out there as the market in the UK is what I would describe as stodgy.

For that money, I would definitely look for a daytona. 116520 there should be plenty of options and even 116500 should be available too.

With a £15-20k budget, there are some fantastic options. If it were me, I'd look at a Rolex Daytona or a Patek Philippe Aquanaut for their timeless appeal and investment potential. Another great choice is the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, especially if you can find one in that range. Each of these pieces brings something unique to a collection

Option 1 - buy one very nice piece like a VC overseas or Daytona.
Option 2 - buy a couple of modern classics in immaculate condition -eg 16710/ 14060M/ 16570. I have enough watches to wear day to day so I’d go for option 2 and wear them very occasionally - they will likely become harder to acquire in perfect condition as the years go by and I’m picking watches I’m fairly sure will remain long term favourites/ keepers. |
