Love for the mint green Sky-Dweller

I tried on an exhibition piece at an AD a while back and I think it's a stunner. For me the Sky-Dweller was elevated by the addition of a Jubilee bracelet a couple of years ago and this new mint green dial really works in person, with those red accents. I know it is not as popular as the GMT Master II but personally I find the second time zone easier to read on the Sky-Dweller and really appreciate the dressy/sporty mix.

I used to dismiss It due to size, and it is a larger watch, but still fits well on my 7 inch wrist (photos with a wide angle smart phone camera exaggerate the size). How do others feel about the Sky-Dweller - is it too big for you? I know Blue has been the crowd favourite for some time but what is your favourite colour?

Cheers

That's an amazing green. I've had the olive DD and this is superior IMO.

I love the green and I love the SD in general but yes, it’s too big.

I’ve seen the blue on jubilee , in person, and it’s stunning. Next time I visit the AD, I’ll try a wrist shot. I hesitated on my recent visits, due to its size. I figured it would look silly.

The watch is what it is. It’s the wrist that is too small. ;-)

EDIT: just so it’s clear, my comment above was poking fun at those who lament the size of various watches….. If a watch were different, it would be a different watch. :-)

The OP and the green Sky-D look great!!

Beautiful, nice complication, but too big. I’ve seen a lot of wrist shots from proud new owners, and maybe it’s the angles of the pics, but most looked like little boys wearing Daddy’s watch.

I wish they made a 38mm or under Sky Dweller

Awesome watch congratulations I really love that mint green. the sky-dweller has been on my radar for quite some time I have three steel oyster bracelets one blue dial one black dial and one white dial and then I have two two-tone yellow gold Jubilee bracelets one white dial one black dial and sometimes it's difficult to figure out which one I want to wear on whatever day I want to wear one. ? Today I picked out the black dial oyster bracelet Steel sky-dweller and we'll have it on my wrist all day enjoying it as I check the time and just look at it because it's fun to just look at it.

When I first saw it I couldn't get my head around it. When I discovered what it did and how it did it I became curious and curiosity gave way to admiration. Not that it mattered because I believed it was far too big for me to wear. Then I tried one on and admiration gave way to adoration.

The Jubilee is so comfortable I forget I'm wearing it, but the Oyster isn't uncomfortable. Subjectively, I think the Jubilee goes particularly well with the blue and green dials but that's a purely personal bias. Any Sky Dweller in any dial colour looks great to me.

I think if it was under 40mm it might not be very legible but I do agree it would be good if they offered a smaller size - perhaps like the Yacht-Master line they could offer 42mm, 40mm and 37?! Guessing the movement would be too big though.

I tend to wear smaller watches and have the DJ36, OP36 and BB58, however I also have 42mm watches like the Advisor and find that the Sky-Dweller although on the upper end is surprisingly wearable on the jubilee.

You can't go wrong with any of the SD's, it only wears big in most cases depending on your wrist size, but I love the green, and also the blue both are stunning colors.

The Skyd needs to be viewed from multiple angles to decide if it wears too big. Most straight on wrist shots make it look abnormally large. You should see it reflected in a mirror with the arm down. It makes a big difference.

I’m a big guy and small watches look silly on me. The YM II isn’t anything I’d consider, so the Rolex’s IMO that don’t look too small are the Explorers, Sky Dwellers and 42mm Yacht Masters. There are even fewer Pateks that I feel, I can wear.
I chuckle when I read that people wish a particular watch they love came in a different size. Welcome to My World.

Green is a stunning colour for a Rolex, Daytona, GMT, Submariner, Datejust, Day Date(olive) or ombré, Skydweller … I’d have any …

This advice is spot on - whenever I do this with a watch it gives you a much better perspective on size

The green dial is superb, a real eye catcher…. The SD wears big but it is a big watch like the SeaD 43 not everyone can pull it off. But if you can go for it.

The green is gorgeous, but to me in reality it looks a little washed out.

The blue edges it for me, but no wrong decision here.
Absolutely love the sky-dweller!

I like the SS Green dial Sky-Dweller. As the prices adjust downward, I will probably pick one up.

Really great dial colour! I also enjoy that blue/green dial on the rose gold SkyD from this year.

I am hoping we will see a thinner SkyD in with a similar lug design to this years daytona release. I think that would make the watch so much more wearable. Especially for people with moderate to smaller wrists.
