Independents in Tokyo?

Any good stores in Tokyo carry independents? I think GF has their new boutique in Tokyo, anyone else?

Try Chrono Theory in Ginza.

There is a nice selection there, like Haldimann, Romain Gauthier, Voutilainen, Laurent Ferrier, Konstantin Chaykin and Credor amongst other usual suspects like Patek and Rolex.

There are also brand boutiques in Tokyo such as FP Journe, GF, Richard Mille, VCA, etc.

Nice, thanks guys. Definitely excited to get out the newer S series from Greubel again. I keep coming close to picking one up then hesitating :)

Please report back if there are good deals to be had at GF with the currency conversion, could be worth the flight

The new smaller S series watches are really nice, I didn't think the larger one's were too big but the smaller ones do fit just that little bit better and I like the additional exposed gears.

Haha, well I would definitely go used since GF tends to lose a lot of value in secondary.

I posted about the new S series before on here and WPS, and consensus is that they are not great value for the money as the finishing is a step down, which I agree with. I got to play with some of the S series when I was in Mexico City of all places. I was walking around, saw a watch store...walked in and they happen to carry a ton of independents like MB&F, GF, etc!

The S series wear really well and the curved crystals are super cool in-person. Even if they're still a little overpriced when they hit secondary, I think I might still do it.

Yeah, value/pricing is a different discussion but the watches themselves are amazing and agree, the curved crystal is so much more dramatic in person. I like the idea of finding a preowned one on a bracelet, those bracelets are absolutely criminally priced but are nice and really don't seem to demand a big premium pre-owned. As much as pricing seems aggressive, I haven't seen any of the older larger sized S2s for sale in ADs in a while so they must be selling well at that price....

I've seen a few of the older ones at big discounts in Moda and some other forums.

Guessing we'll start seeing some of the newer ones hit used markets soon.

Is the smaller S only for the Asian markets? I saw one in HK a few months ago but cannot find one at my local AD.

My local AD seems to be not very aware of it when I inquired. But there will be a GF event coming up in another month or so, I am sure there will be a chance to inquire directly then.
