1966 GMT Master at a Rolex CPO

Hi all,

So this may be of interest to some, gives an idea on what Rolex Certified Pre Owned are charging for what appears to me to be a lovely, but pretty average 1675 GMT Master.

So im not an expert, but the guy said it was all original apart from the bracelet, which was brand new and changed at service before they offer it for sale.

I also see a non-original date wheel and its a fairly heavily polished case.

Now the price....

£35,000.

Thirty five thousand pounds. About $45k.

Absolutely wild pricing. To me thats more than twice what its worth. What you guys think?

Crazy, but buying it probably gets one on the list for a new popular sports model...

I see many of these dealer refurbished, CPO watches being offered for double the current market prices. This GMT 1675 model is no exception.

Madness - Buy CPO and you’ll be upside down on any of their pieces for a decade at least - it’s really for lazy, cash-laden, totally un-clued up types......in fact, the opposite of EBay !

That price @£35000 is truly bonkers and at such a price that nobody in this current market would surely pay?

But 35 grand. Crazy numbers

More than that imho - gilt dial, insert correct and case seems nice from this photo but 35k is insane.

Interesting, I did not see a gilt dial in that photo. Of course, it is pretty blurry.

They’ll move like $500. When you see these CPO watches up close, many are over polished and in worse condition than a TS would carry for cheaper.

I’m sure they will at least tell people that. I think the easier route is going to be buying whatever the hot watch is, wearing it for a while and offering to trade into the AD for the next watch.

Laughable price.

Out of curiosity, where does Rolex buy its CPO watches?

Haven't seen a nice 66 gilt for under 15k in a long time.

I've tried to find a 2nd piece with a nice original dial / hands / bezel- insert and haven't found one in the low 20s

It is the AD that buy watches second hand and then if they are part of the Rolex CPO program thay can sell it as a Rolex CPO watch. Rolex only supplies the ADs that are part of the program with a special pouch, warranty, seal and other stuff that it comes with. The AD sets the ridiculous price.
