Batgirl - grey market pricing

Good evening! This piece has been on my want list for what seems like forever. I keep waiting for a call from the AD which never comes.

Just curious what the general consensus is on here if I paid 16.5k for a brand new Batgirl from a reputable grey market dealer for a 2024 Batgirl, unworn, with a full set… is it completely outrageous?

My opinion? Do it. Get it over with. If you're AD calls you and it ends up being a Batgirl (IF that does eventually happen), you can buy that one also and sell this one on the Grey market.. or just be done with it if you don't want the hassle.

I have been waiting far too long in my eyes also, so my opinion is from a similar viewpoint. If I could find the exact same watch you are mentioning locally AND from a trusted person (I know I'm not getting a fake), I'd do it myself.

If you’re tired of waiting, especially if it may never come, do what needs to be done.

If you are tired of waiting for the call that never comes then I’d recommend going grey. I would have thought you should be able to get one via your AD without too much of a wait maybe register your interest at more than one AD?

That is a very fair price and I would do it. Great watch and one that can be worn as much as one likes.

Prices are dropping and Rolex becoming more available. To me there is never a good time to go grey, but this really isn’t the time. I mean 5k over MSRP is not good IMO. I have and love this watch, but don’t love it over MSRP.

Make sure you actually speak to the gray dealer and try to negotiate a slight discount. I bet they would go to at least 16K if you are able to "wire the cash same day".

I'd also call the AD and just ask them what timeframe is realistic and that you are thinking of just going gray. See what they say.

The watch is special, I think you will really enjoy it. I have mine on oyster, but sometimes wish I had it on jubilee.

Grey market is dangerous for guys like us with watch ADHD. We are guaranteed to take a massive loss when we eventually flip it

When you just bought the DD on the 3rd from your AD, did they give you an update on delivery for this one. A DD should have moved you up the "list."

If that's all in tax included. Not bad in today's market.

paying almost 50% above MSRP in this market is wild. stock market and bitcoin are cratering. at some point you will get a call or this will be $13k.

Personally, on a day such as this, I would be waiting for at least a month to see what happens regarding the price. No need to buy today. But that’s just me.

I bought one grey, part exed my sub date 41 plus cash

Considering reversing and going back to sub date to try and be a 1 watch guy

Or chop it in and upgrade to a panda or YM oysterflex

Miss the glidelock for ultimate fit sometimes

I could see them getting as low as say 14k. If market continues to soften -Maybe.

How much will that 2500 bucks bother you if it does happen.

Only you can answer that question. I wouldn't let 2500 bother me if i really wanted it.
