It's Not Just Rolex ADs With 'Display Only'
We all know about 'wait lists' and 'Display/Exhibition Only' watches in Rolex ADs, but this scenario now seems to be spreading!!
I went to a car dealership yesterday that I have been buying cars from for some 20 years, as looking to change vehicles. After a good four hour test drive I said would be buying one - this is a brand new car, not a used one. I had two colour choices that I liked, and in the showroom was the exact model, trim level and in one of my prefered colours. I asked if I could have that one, only to be told, 'Sorry, but the cars in the showroom are display only. We can't sell these'. Honestly, you couldn't make these things up!! |

What’s your purchase history?
Did you try bundling with tires, service, extended warranty?

That is one of the floor planning options for dealers to keep inventory costs down. Porsche did it back in the '90's for high-end Carreras.
I know my Volvo dealer currently does this. However, they have a nationwide inventory network to fulfill buyer's orders. If no model is available with the options a buyer wants, then a factory order is in your future. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
