Servicing Red Sub

Let's say hypothetically that I have a red sub that needs movement servicing/repair. I've read places before that RSC usually won't touch these watches (and some suggest that it is a very bad idea to send it to them in the first place given their propensity to replace/repair dials, hands, etc). What options would I have as a vintage owner? BTW, I don't actually own any vintage yet. I'm just trying to resolve in my mind the best way to handle certain situations given the sizable investment needed to enter the vintage world. The last thing I want is a cool looking bracelet that doesn't keep time. Any feedback from those who have acutal experience would be appreciated!

In the states RSC has some draconian policies reguarding "exotic" dials. With a reference like the RED a GOOD watch repair guy is your answer.

We have several here on TRF. Bob Ridley is fantastic as well as Dalton and others.

I noticed you reside in Texas, Bob Ridley is also in Texas, not sure where though.
