Complete rolex collection (suggestions welcome)

1 Attachment(s)
Hey guys,

Really looking to round out my Rolex collection.

Currently have YG Daytona, WG Submariner, SS Sub, 16710 Pepsi, and an Omega Seamaster.

The SS Sub is unworn with all plastics in place. I only sized it and it's been sitting in my safe.

I think the SS Sub has become redundant in my collection due to the addition of the Smurf so I am thinking of flipping it.

I will likely flip for a DD40. Thoughts and suggestions pls! Should i keep the sub and add dd40 or flip the ss sub towards the DD40?

PS. I also intend to add a White Dial Ceramic Daytona when/if prices are decent, that or a White Patek 5711.

Chewbacca 16 September 2016 07:35 AM

(thinking)

why not flip all but the blue sub and start over with a dd40 and a daytona-c?

Kiddodoc 16 September 2016 07:36 AM

The DD would be a great choice but your SS Sub is a great everyday watch so I would keep it and save for the DD. Just my two cents.

Evad3 16 September 2016 07:40 AM

Flip the SubC for a DD40
Flip the SMP for DaytonaC

But whatever you choose you have a fantastic collection!

SWISSAHOLICS 16 September 2016 07:41 AM

I would trade Omega (if no sentiments are attached to it) and SS Sub for a DD40. And since you have WG Sub and YG Daytona, perhaps a RG DD40?

Tri-Tip 16 September 2016 07:49 AM

You have too many watches...send me the Smurf and your collection will be perfect! :joy: :joy: :joy:

Yes RG DD40, choco or green.

rollee1 16 September 2016 09:02 AM

Yachtmaster 116622 rhodium dial.
Rid the Omega, replace with 116500 white Daytona
That's a nice little collection

Boaters 16 September 2016 09:05 AM

Keep it simple don't over think this

Ruud Van Driver 16 September 2016 09:06 AM

If money isn't an issue, I'd keep the Sub and add the DD. If that were my collection, I'd flip the YG Daytona but only because YG doesn't suit me, no other reason

Shichinin 16 September 2016 09:07 AM

DD40 with green dial would be perfect

Maybe something Rose Gold might be a nice addition

The YG Daytona was a grail to me, that one isn't going anywhere. The dd40 is in planning, as is the daytona c

I was keeping it for this reason but it just doesn't have the same presence the Smurf has. And the smurf is discreet enough where I can wear it "daily" without concern.

tjbender 16 September 2016 09:33 AM

Solid line up. You definitely need a dress piece. Unless you have large wrists I still think the 36mm DD suits that role best.

If that were my collection I'd keep the YG Daytona + GMT and flip the rest for something like a Patek or ALS.

Thank you! The SMP was my first nice watch, I got it when i was 19. It isn't really worth much in trade so I prefer to keep it. Maybe hand it down someday.

Omega is just a little sentimental. Love a RG DD40 but to me the Day Date was always meant to be Yellow Gold.

The RG DD40 with the Green Dial has been catching my eye a lot, I mean how could it not with the recent love it's been getting here. Yet still, when I think DD, I think Yellow Gold.

Thnx, I have a special place in my heart for this watch. My dad wore an Omega for a lot of years until I converted him to Rolex.

I like the explorer 2 but don't really want this many SS Rolex references. Have my eyes on the Daytona Ceramic and a PP Nautilus, both white dial.

Owned and loved a DSSD for some time. It was my second Rolex, got it around 2013 and just moved it this year for the Smurf. I really like the look of the DSSD-blue but don't really think a DeepSea is essential to my collection. Great looking reference however. Sat a bit tall on my wrist and that became a love/hate thing eventually.

While I do like the Hulk, I think I have the ultimate Submariner in the Smurf. To me, the Smurf is everything a Submariner should be; smart, stealthy, and absolutely stunning. I love the stealth factor, it wears like an SS to the untrained eye all the while I KNOW I have a WG chunk on my wrist. Until a Platinum Sub is released, the Smurf is a fixture in my watch box.

You have a great taste in watches! I agree the 116619 works great as a daily watch .

I would absolutely move the 116610. YG DD40 is the way to go for sure.

If it were me, I would pass on the 116500 since you have the YG Daytona and work on upgrading the GMT to a ceramic BLRO later on.

Wcdhtwn 16 September 2016 01:00 PM

Are you set on 40mm? If not a chocolate dial/RG sky dweller would be great. Flip whatever you need to but keep the Omega... wearing mine now and you need the brand diversity.

Thank you brother, likewise! Which dial did you go with on the DD40?

Not interested in upgrading the 16710 as it is a Z serial with the 3186 movement. Special watch. Also the BLRO doesn't sing to me at all. Don't like the colors on the bezel. Big fan of the YG GMT II however.

Not really into anything over 40mm at this time. Sky Dweller is nice but not for me. I'm more of a classics guy. The classics are classic for a reason.

Samui 16 September 2016 02:17 PM

I would flip the sub the gmt and the omega for the daytona C and the rg DD40. Also consider a ROO

Only AP that really sings to me is the 15202.
