Em, since I am not using pencils for the same purpose you use them(such as 2B and 4B)for...in drafting and my kind of design work I prefer 3H and sometimes I use 2H. I use a very light touch(as to not indent the paper)to set my lines. As for finishing the design I will go back over my work using pigment markers to go over all my lines and will use from 0.1 thru 0.5 depending on the portion of the design I need to express. Hard surfaces such as concrete, fences and buildings I will use 0.3 and 0.5 but for plants I will use 0.1(for annuals and perennials) and 0.3(for trees, evergreens and ornamental flowering shrubs). Now as for my Plant and Material Lists this is really where your drafting skills come in and it will take me between 8-10 hours to do this depending on how detailed the lists are(I'm sure glad my father taught me Drafting). When I'm done I have had clients frame the designs and hang them on their walls.....
