Newest addition to my rolex collection! enter the DSSD!!

so i have been bouncing back and fourth in acquiring one of my grail watches for 2009, when i was at 99% sure it would be a SS daytona in black face, i went to AD's around socal to try on the daytonas and made a promise to myself that for 2009 i would pick one up.

This past weekend i made the treck up to Northern California to pay a visit to my grandmother and aunt. When i had some time to drive around, i stopped by a local AD and they had both a black face ss daytona and a deep sea available. I tried on both and though the daytona is one of the most sought after rolex models, there was just something about the dssd that made me smile.

So about an hour or so trying each one on over and over again i decided on picking up the dssd. What struck me about the dssd is how unique and new the watch as a whole is, while the daytona hasnt really changed other than the clasp. My decision was further reinforced by the date function of the dssd. Owning a milgauss as well i have found myself at times missing the date feature that is present in my GMTII's. The feel of the dssd satisfies my desire for a larger case, and the glide lock clasp is just awesome..... i never want to play with spring bars ever again when adjusting haha.

enough gibber jabber on with the pics!

here some shots in comparison with my other watches. The size is just amazing to me, pictures do no justice and you really need to go into an AD to try it on yourself!!

and the shot versus the milgauss. The milgauss was my tallest watch at the time.

and my new 2009 collection photo

thanks for looking!!
