I think you can wear it with anything. I would. No one is really going to notice anyway. I saw a kid with a gold colored watch bagging my groceries the other day. Was it real gold? No idea. I also see gold color Nixon watches at the surf shop where I buy most of my clothes.

You can most definitely wear it casually. Don't worry. Good luck!

When I think of Tony Soprano I always have this image of him in a scene wearing his YGDD in his bathrobe reading his morning newspaper and it looks as natural as can be. It’s not what you can wear with it, it’s how you wear it.

The Patek nautilus. Stainless or gold, also delicate, listed as Patek's sport watch.

Day Date/Datejust/OP, stainless or gold, 100m water resistance (same as ExpII, GMT), same oyster case as the professional models,. Note they are classified as classics, and NONE of the Rolex models are classified as a sport watch (subs etc are professional models). It was an OP that summited Everest. It was a DJ that was worn when the sound barrier was first passed. You can beat up an OP, DJ or DD just as much as any sub and it takes it fine, unlike a dress watch. These models gave rise to the modern subs, GMTs etc. Rolex is a sport watch brand, period - just depends on whether you want to call them "Classic" sport watches, or "professional" sport watches IMO.
How are you basing your opinions on the the other watch brands. Hands on, or just what you read on the net ? Me, Patek Aqua for 20 years more durable than any rolex Ive owned. Light years away in case design and movement than Rolex. I like my rolex but please !

I like Rolex because wears fine with all! Shorts or elegant. I would wear a DD with casual everyday.

My thoughts would be to wear it however you want. That's what being in your 20s is about.
All that old 'shirts must be warn with a dress watch, which is gold, white faced and leather strapped' is defunct.

Fashion these days dictates that we can wear sneakers with a suit, or a sports watch with a tuxedo (as long as it has the right name on the front of course) I'd just not wear the watch in inappropriate surroundings (I never used to wear my nice watch if i was going to a especially divey bar/club)

GL and have fun with the eventual acquisition!

Your watch would not need to know or care whatever you was wearing its a watch to tell you the time nothing more.

Well it’s not is it because it costs thousands and thousands ..

To mr Miami.. You’re saving up for this watch as you say which means you are going to want to take care of it as you should.. if you hit your day date against a brick wall you will take a nice chunk out of it believe me not something you’re going to want to do after saving your hard earned money for. That’s the point of having a beater watch

Social conventions have changed. It used to be that you were supposed to wear a thin, plain uncomplicated gold watch on a leather strap with a suit, no watch with a tux. Now guys wear all sorts of watches everywhere. There are no rules any more about it.

Wear what you like. Nobody actually notices watches except for people like us anyway.
