Living in Greece, means that sea salt from swimming, sand from the beach and dust in the air due to the dry climate in combination with perspiration attack the watch and the bracelet.

In the past I had the Jubilee of one of my bracelets links worn and cut because of the above, but after that I was told the little "trick".

Every now and then, depending on use, you place the watch in a "see through" water glass with warm water and some mild soap. You leave it overnight and the next morning after shaking it a bit you take it out.

You then do two things
A. rinse well and wipe dry the watch, and
B. you look at a source of light through the bottom of the glass keeping it upright.

You will be surprised by the dirt and grit resting at the bottom of the glass that had soaked and came out !!!

I keep mine scratch free with a quick touchup ever 10 minutes.

I just clean it. If ya polish the case too often you'll end up with just the movement. Personally,polishing or refinishing should be done only if the watch needs it or if it's due for service.

Yes, I did it several time because I had scratches.

I used a polish that is for steel or silver, it is called OUATOR.

Works fine.

No, scratches never seemed to bother me.

I even think when I get it serviced, Ill ask that it not be polished.

Bergeon 6085 abrasive wheel for the brushed areas and bracelet, green rouge and a high speed polish wheel for the polished areas, followed by an ultrasonic cleaning, same methods as my AD.

Hi Julio

yes I polish my watches. I use AMOR and a Chamois sheet to give it a good rub over any superficial scratches.

Takes them all off. I then wash the watch in luke warm water and a soft liquid soap solution.

Dry with a soft towel and the watch looks brand new.

If I have a deeper scratch, I use a cloth wheel coated with a ultra mild cutting compound on my Dremel. This takes some practice to do.

I can polish off the scratches very easily. I do it slowly at medium speed, resting the wheel often so the bracelet does not get over heated.

After the Dremel job, I use Amor and the Chamois and the soap wash. Comes out tops.
