Nothing sensible about buying a $5,000 or $10,000 or $50,000 watch. Nothing sensible about buying a $100,000 Porsche. The least sensible thing is not enjoying the one life you have to live.

Happy 50th
If money is no issue, treat yourself to the watch you truly want. If you buy a runner up … the other watch will always haunt you |

As others have said, buy what you want, and feel you can afford. And I'll add, most non-watch people won;t notice the difference between your 2 watches. Heck, they may not notice (or care) that it is a $12k, or $22k rolex. Buy it for you

Been retired a similar number of years...and stupid with money long before that.
Ten years ago I would've told you, with no hesitation, to buy the more expensive one, and if you didn't like it, then flip it for the cheaper one. Nowadays, however, I guess being older and just not wanting to play games anymore, my advice is to wait for the watch you fall in love with, and then go after it. TBH, I didn't get a strong sense of how you felt about either choice, other than their price tag...and that shouldn't determine what you spend your hard earned money on. Life's too short. C'mon, as a fellow retiree, you should know that. |

Between the two options I'd suggest going with the 29mm watch. Nicer watch, has box and papers. Also significant is the larger dial size. 29mm is significantly lager than 26mm. You are at a golden age-where vision starts to decrease dramatically. Get the nicer watch. Happy 50th! |

IMHO, the lady DJ is a nicer watch. Personally, I dislike the Pearlmaster. Having said that, 26 mm is a tiny watch, and I wouldn’t wear that either. Perhaps consider a 31 mm blinged out DJ, if they make one. I know the newer Lady DJs are 28 mm, and they do make those with diamonds. As for spending all that money, you only live once, and you can’t take it with you. Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

You know what? I’ll bet most of us here are stupid with money, but it’s OK to treat yourself well, as long as it’s not hurting anyone else. Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Get the one you want. if money is not the concern, no reason not to. Also, it's all relative. I know people that spend a disproportionate amount of income on fun stuff.

Sounds like you can spend the money, so that issue is off the table. Choose the one which gives you goose bumps of happiness and go for it!
Life is too short to not enjoy every moment of it;) |

You’re already retired. Don’t overthink it, presuming your net worth is 7 digits or more. Don’t settle. Get the one you want.

Quite don’t understand “ Rather show myself, and the world, I’ve done pretty well for myself.” “ Although the higher one is definitely a eff all yall peasants piece.”
You lost me, and no I’m not one who understands where you’re coming from. Seems like you want to impress society, and send a message for whatever reason. |
