I don't like the sunburst finish on that champagne, so i'm going for the white roman dial.

White w/Romans; But to be totally up front, I had a 118238 with a white dial w/Romans. Eventually, I switched the dial to a champagne dial which I loved. When I bought a new Day Date II, however, I got the white dial w/Romans again. I think the only way I'm going to be totally satisfied is to get another Day-Date with a champagne dial. In the end, however, I think the white dial is very, very nice in the photo in your past.

How these 20+ year old DD (yours and the one I posted) still have such clean dial really puzzle me. What is the white dial made of?

Wait a second... something's missing here...

Nobody in this Day-Date thread has recommended Bark?

Is someone sick today?

Just tossing out some ideas - a 70's look.
Too bad I do not have bell bottoms to show from this era.
Anyone with cool pics of bell bottoms?

The pics online of the champaign don't show how it does vary in color from a lighter to a darker, based on the light. I didn't like the champaign dial from just looking at it online, but in person it's breathtaking and I love it and wouldn't change it on my DD>

Exactly! I thought so even in the 80s so I got white w/ Roman when I bought my first DJ in 1982 (see avatar); guess I was just ahead of my time.

I never did understand the popularity of the champaign dial; to me it clashes with the gold on the watch.

That it does, especially with the stick dial, turns the watch from gold, to beige.

if champagne, sticks, if white, romans....both are great. something tells me champagne is more "classic", but, i think a TT DJ on a jubilee with champagne is what i'm thinking about. for a YG DD, the white with romans looks best.

I got white on one DD and Silver on another. The sun reflects off them nicely! My vote- WHITE.

You can't go wrong. My grail though is a YG DD with roman numerials. I'd say white dial. Good luck!
