Why would polishing it devalue it, from what I've read watches come back from RSC like new.

Can't see how thats a bad thing

Whatever you want it to be, you should do. If you want a shiny dress watch, then polish. If you like the character (while still dressy) of the patina its acquired...stay with it. Me personally, I like a "worn" Rolex (especially if the wearing is done by me). :)
