I own both 36 and 39. Love them both too. I wear the 36 when I want a kinda vintage feel, although not that old the light band and clasp give it a "prior model" feeling.

So, Mark, how many other watches do you have?

I first bought the 36mm explorer. When the 39 mm came out I could not make up my mind whether or not to sell the 36mm and buy the 39mm. I then bought the 39 mm anyway and have now had both watches for some four years. I will be keeping them both, and they are among my all time favourites.

The differences between them are subtle but at the same time substantial. If you like the explorer concept you will enjoy owning both watches.

The 36mm is smaller(!), thicker and has a gloss face. The 39mm is a very clever development of the concept. It wears quite a bit bigger, better bracelet, matte dial etc. I wear both watches. It is certainly not a waste to own both.

Interestingly enough, I had the 39 before I got the 36, but one day DavidSW had a pristine 36mm and could not help myself.
Beautiful 39mm on strap combo.

I have the 36mm and love it...though there are days when I think it would get more wear if it was bigger.

I've tried on both, I really liked the 36mm more. But by the time I was ready to buy they stopped selling the 36mm version at my AD and I was not yet comfortable buying online. I went for the 39mm and I love it. I've had a chance to go for a a 36mm now that I've had great experiences with TRF sellers now, but I don't think I'd ever give up my 39mm.
