As of right now there are three dials available for the platinum Day-Date 40 references 228206 and 228396TBR:

Ice blue diagonal

Ice blue quadrant roman

Ice blue baguette

Source: Dial catalog at the AD where I work.

Very possible that more dials will be released in a few weeks at Basel.

Diagonal motif gets my nod. The ice blue with bugettes is too plain for my tastes. I think it works with the Platona due to the sub dials. I think the glacier waves Arabic is one of the nicest platinum dials but I'm a bit biased.

Not available for the reference he's considering, unfortunately.

Ice blue diagonal with sticks is the dial configuration that Rolex chose for its advertisements (or at least the ads that I've seen). And in my opinion, they did choose the most attractive dial.

However, the baguette diamond dial does also look nice in the photo you provided. That would be a fine choice as well

I thought for sure the new DD40 PT Ice Blue with diagonal would be my next purchase, but for some reason it just didn't sing when I tried it on.

That happened to me, too. It is very nice, though.

Thinking trying on a yg dd40 and seeing how the diagonal looks with that.

They have a RG Baguette without the diamond bezel so Plat might come out at Basel.

THanks everyone for the kind comments.

My AD has gotten back to me, and its an additonal £3000 for the baguette diamond dial.

So far, they have offered me 15% for the ladies date just and 16.3% on the platinum day date. Good or bad? Maybe I am just greedy but I'm thinking it can be better given that I am getting two pieces?

Motif dial identifies it as a 2015 DD40. I like the lume markers too. Go for motif!

For precious metal Rolex, I think you should be able to do a bit better, even at an AD. I was offered a larger discount (18%) on platinum DD40 by an AD in the US.

My 1st thought too, but I don't recall ever seeing an ALL bag dia dial on the Pt DD2. Just with the bags at the 6 and 9. I could of course be wrong.

Anyways... The Pt DD40 with an ice blue diamond dial would be my choice
