New Platinum Day Date 40mm - Need help with dial
Hey all,
Hope everyone is all good and jolly. I've just been to my local AD and am about to conclude a purchase of the new day date and a ladies date just - pending their confirmation on the best possible discount 😆 Anyways, I was googling online and saw some pictures of the day date with a plain bezel and dial with the baguette diamonds. Didn't see this in the brochure. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks again! love the new tartan blue dial introduced for the 40mm but for me has to be the iced one ,
it finishes the watch off imho . it isn't too in your face just right imho the baguettes are subtle and look just right . |

Congratulations in advance. It's one of the few diamond dials that I would say looks understated and I'd consider wearing

I would opt for the roman dial.

I have been looking at a yellow gold DD40 and my conclusion is that the Rolex website and catalogs are horrible and no help at all. I don't know if these is a definitive list of what dials are available.
I would agree with most above that the solid blue diamond dial looks fantastic!

Baguettes are actually very nice but I would probably get the diagonal dial. However Baguettes are one dial you can source from RSC and maybe keep your old dial as it is pricier.

platinum comes with many dial colours, just most people choose the ice blue because it is unique to platinum

The diamond dial is amazing, that's the one I would go for if buying a 40.

Nice choice, but....
Is there a reason that you want to give the AD more than you need to for these watches, money that you yourself could spend on an extra holiday / diamond for her? A grey importer would save you thousands on these, as a main agent retailer will not usually give anything like the same discount. Sure, you get to feel spoiled because they give you some champagne and a dolly bird to fuss over you. Why not save the thousands and choose a Nebuchadnezzar of champagne and a dolly when and where you choose? These are models that depreciate badly, so if you love them it is perhaps especially worthwhile to "buy well." If in doubt, post here what the main agent's "best price" is (or the % discount) and you'll soon get an idea from the forum. H

I love the all bagette diamonds. The diagonal motif is nice to but the diamond dial is my preference.

The one you found online looks to be the Day-Date II, which is why you're not seeing it in new brochures.
