I personally don’t mind the nicknames. I wouldn’t have a clue on my watches model numbers. I do prefer calling a watch by its name (green sub) etc. Maybe I am getting old.

I think the modern nicknames are an easy way for newer members to engage the forum but once you've been here a while I think the comic nicknames should be discarded as we have shortened reference terms; BLNR, LVc, WG Sub etc.

AK797, I do understand and will try to catch up. Aren't these nicknames known outside the forum ? I mean, until now I thought of it as a playful, fun way to refer to a Rolex WG Sub LB as for example...
