I am also in the market for an AP and some context to what i have found...i think if you are purely looking at it from a size (especially how the bezel, face) sits on the wrist...the 15450 isn't going to be TOO big...

however, I am finding that a lot of people men prefer the 15300 because of the proportion of the overall watch...

I am going to go try on a 15450 myself next weekend and if i'll post my experience if still interested!

i might actually consider 15450 now since i never seen and tried any 15300 in real life (why its so rare?). Sometimes just frustrated that its nearly impossible to get a 15450 at BT or AD for new customers like me.

I have a 7" wrist and I think it fits my wrist perfectly. APs wear large, so I'd equate a 37mm RO to a 39mm Rolex. A 39mm RO is more like a 41mm Rolex. And a 41mm RO is like a 43 mm Rolex....wayyy too big for a 6" wrist. I'd venture to say even the 15300 is a bit large for your wrist.

Also, the 15450 dials are so much better than the 15300 dials IMO.

6” wrist? Definitely get the 15450 - you will not regret it. This is coming from a guy who owned the blue 15300 and now own a blue 15450. The 15450 just sits and looked a lot better on my wrist (6.3”). I can 100% guarantee you that the 15300’s “end links” will stick out too much and wouldn’t look good.

IMO the dial and blue colour of the 15450 is a LOT better too. I was never a fan of the “AP” at 12 o clock and the two hash marks are a lot cleaner and classic looking..

I agree with the comments on the 14790, that was my choice as well.
If I am being extremely picky, I’d like it to be 0.5-1MM larger.
The integrated bracelet just doesn’t allow for a perfect fit when you buy it in 39MM for smaller wrists.
If you are picky in the way your watch wears (I certainly am), the overhang of the protruding lug on the 15300/15202/5402 will drive you nuts.

For me the issue with the 15450 is that I find it out of proportion personally. The bracelet is too thick and the build is too large for the dial size. I’m a vintage geek and so I suppose I’m just picky with certain things.
I don’t think the 15450 will come off as a ladies watch at all on smaller wrists though. Will be a significantly better wear and choice than the 39mm.

The 14790 slim profile and refined build makes it the only and best suitable option for my smaller wrists.

My comments certainly weren’t positive but they definitely weren’t hatred. But since you are the utmost authority of what everyone should wear and what will fit their specific wrist size I’ll start being more deferential to you when I consider my next purchase.

Guess I better sell my Daytona and 5712 because lug to lug they wear pretty similar to the 15450.

Oh, and by the way, AP already makes several ROs at 33mm so the future is already here!

Definitely 15450 for you with the size of your wrist.

I have 6.3 inch wrists. The 15450 is perfect. All the nonsense about it being for ladies is ridiculous as it wears larger than 37mm.

The 15450 would be perfect for your wrist. Its tiny but so is a ' '6 wrist. A lot cheaper and more easy to get as well.

The bracelet is 'too thick' on the 15450? Not sure what you mean by that.

In terms of diameter, the issue for me is that the bracelet is too thin and wears like a dainty women's bracelet. In pics, it's hard to appreciate but when you lay your eyes on it, it's hard to ignore.

A slightly different take.

I have a 6.5” flat wrist. Yes, the 15450 dial is a bit smaller than my 15202. However the 15450 is a much better steel/bracelet watch for more professional wear, where a suit and stainless watch would be appropriate. Under dress cuffs the 15202 on my wrist looks very much “trying too hard” but the smaller, subtler 15450 looks elegant and smart. But short sleeves and at the park or on holiday? 15202 all the way.

I believe what I said is a little subjective.
I suppose as a vintage collector(primarily), I have a huge preference towards the more "refined" and slim profile of the RO bracelet on the older models. 5402/14790 etc.
For me personally I found the bracelet too thick perhaps because I was more drown to the older models to begin with.

The beauty of the hobby is that there is something for everyone, and we all have different tastes and are nitpicky with different things.

1) the bracelet tapers so narrow down the end
2) thickness...i know it the same as 15400, but it looks "bulkier" cuz of the smaller dial size

Both are concerns.

But the biggest concern is that the dial looks tiny in person. I was a fan of the 15450 after seeing all the pictures, but I have a 6.25 inch wrist and it looked way too small in person, very odd; may have to do with the bulky part as you see the watch in 3D in person instead of a pure top down.

i would prefer 15300 always over 15500. way more elegant and not clumsy. My all-time favorite in terms of being balanced out remains 15202 but i would def go for 15300 if 15202 is not happening.
