5146g...my perfect dress down, dress up watch
I recently purchased a 2 year old 5146g, cream dial. So understated, classy, actually useful complications including the power reserve in addition to the annual calendar. Switching between dark brown and navy blue leather straps with the Calatrava deployment clasp enables me to make it a daily wear watch as well as a more formal piece. I'm actually wearing this more often than my 5167r at this time. PP annual calendars as a whole are so special. I believe the dog days of the dress watch is over, according to my AD there been more interest than in recent years. Opinions?

5146 is a wonderful reference, I would say that with this reference is where you get the more bang for your buck in the patek lineup , specially in the secondary market. Now i don’t believe that dress watch had an increasing interest in recent years. I would like to believe though that because prices on sport watches are softening now is because people is beginning to understand that paying obscene amounts of money for a steel watch with a date only is not precisely the best bang for your buck. Let’s hope because I am anxious to go back to what patek is all about. Until then I will remain vigilant.
In the meantime, I am looking forward to see some picks ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
