Tudor Big Blocks v vintage Rolex Daytona
Hey guys,
Hope you're good. I always loved the look of the vintage Rolex Daytonas, but knew I'll never be able to afford one - so a while ago I went with the Tudor Big Block 79160! I love this watch. A lot of people hate on the thickness, but for me, the size is perfect. I've written a short article about the Tudor Big Blocks, which draws out some of the comparisons between them and the vintage Rolex Daytonas here if anyone is keen to read more. Or just wants to have a look at more gratuitous watch shots of my 79160! Enjoy! Daniel |

Big blocks are rare and special watches these days. The date feature and rugged case make them very useful. There was a time that they could be picked up easily and cheaply, alas this is no longer the case.

they are one of the best vintage tudors, totally unsurprising that prices have gone crazy (especially with subs and snowflakes going through the roof). I think the tudor tigers are really the last cheap vintage tudor chrono.

True, still pricier today than what you paid a few years ago for sure. But at the same time - relative to those vintage Daytona's I mention in the article (like the 6240 - check the side by side comparison in the link) which shares such a similar design to the Big Block 79100s - I still think the range offers incredible value. Even today!
