How much discount from AD on YG Rolex?

I was offered a significant two digit discount on a YG Rolex by an AD.

Is that ‘standard practice’ on full PM watches?

Interested to hear your experience.

When I was buying my PM Daytona 2 years ago they gave me 12% off in AD in New York. I was in same AD with my friend who wanted to buy a PM watch in the beginning of summer, they told us no discounts at all, doesn’t matter what the watch was. When I mentioned that I got a discount in same store he was like, “ye when was that, 2years ago, ok, we dont do that anymore” After that we spoke with manager, with the same guy who sold me my watch few years ago, still no discount. So if you got something in double digits as a discount, get it without thinking about it.

Sounds good for a skyD. What's the discount?

I would say 15 off from a family business ad is reasonable.

Thats a really strong offer in the current market

Remember only to buy if it's a reference that you actually want and not because its offered with a discount. Sometimes one gets carried away with a good offer

Happy hunting

I appreciate your comment. I wasn’t interested at MSRP because it’s a lot of money but when they offered me 20% off it caught me off guard...

I just got 12.5 percent off a DD-40 in white gold. Had no prior business with the AD. I pressed for 15 percent but got the impression that anything above 12.5 starts to eat into the SA’s commission.

I picked up a YG Daytona a couple months ago and got 15%. Have been told no more discounts now.

Anywhere from 15-20% sounds right, in spite of current state.

depends on the model and AD. Small market AD maybe but if you walk into a major market AD forget it.

I agree only buy if you really want it. Because we don't want to see the post in 9 months about the sale for the lack of wrist time, and your financial loss. Buy what you love brother.

I was in the market for a DD40 a few months back. Went into 2 local AD's which I have never bought anything from before. Both would not budge off of MSRP even though neither have the exact dial configuration I wanted in stock. I ended up getting a fully stickered model from a Grey at a 16% discount without playing games. So if you like the Gold Skydweller I would say 20% off is a good deal.

I know of a certain Buffett owned chain of ADs who will discount most precious metal models significantly PLUS ship it out of state to save you on taxes.

20% in todays market is huge, you would be lucky to get 10% in most places right now

20% off a PM SKy D is a great deal. Surprised that was offered.

PM SkyD's are not exactly hot sellers considering the price point of the SS ones.
Now PM Subs, GMT's and Daytonas? Good luck in this market. I was fortunate to buy my YG Sub in 2017 from a forum TS and got 25% discount.

I think 20% is a fantasy. I need to see evidence that this was offered recently. I am skeptical.
