Can't warm up to new gs logo dial help

I was a huge gs fan and has half of dozen gs all old seiko dials. I like some of the new releases just can't warm up to the new gs logo dials. This might prevent me from buying any more grand seikos

Personally, I think GS-only makes sense. No need to double the branding with “Seiko” and “Grand Seiko”.

I only have one, a "Seiko" snowflake SBGA011. I had a SBGH267 for a while but moved it on. Personally I also prefer the double branding. GS for me is a stealth WIS brand and the single branding moves away from that slightly.

The double branding has been around since the 1960s and as a vintage GS collector I prefer it and think it looks fine, but I can see why they changed to the GS-only style. I'm ok with it, and even own one (SBGT235). But I do prefer the vintage. Excuse the dust and fingerprints...

im in the same boat. i prefer the old logo. been trying to explain to my wife that i need to buy the leftover ones before they're all gone. i guess long run will save me money, though the 4 seasons dials look pretty compelling. i like the stealth look but oddly enough received more compliments for my sbga059 than my pateks.

I don't mind the new logo and think it looks good. No issues with the old logo but time moves on. Decisions made by companies I admire and enjoy typically are made without consulting me, so I just roll with it. This does not mean I don't miss my Star-Tek phone but it does not stop me from phone ownership. Pick a new GS that you like and step up. The Logo will probably not matter as much if you own and like the watch. Just my thoughts.

I tend to agree with the OP, but I'm warming up to the new logo, to the point that when I see photos it's now a non-issue... But I do prefer the older

I prefer the old. I don’t like a cluttered dial, but the new have too much unused real estate. The textured dials look great, but the solid color dials could use a little more detail. That being said, most of my wish list are new GS. Go figure.

Is hard to explain how Im not liking the new gs logo, I feel like they just said why don't we just remove the seiko and move up the gs logo. Just feel a little bit forced. They didn't have this issue in Japan for over 30 years why change it now?

GS has separated itself from Seiko and making a push into foreign markets , so it makes sense for me for the brand to try to distinguish itself from “ordinary” Seiko. I agree with the decision and am ambivalent to the old and new dials/logos, but more and more I find myself appreciating the less cluttered dial with the revised logo/branding

I actually prefer the new look - cleaner. However the discontinued nature of the older dials may make em more collectible :)
