Icon17 JV Pics

Here's a few shots of my recently acquired Jules Verne mentioned here. These are the best shots I could get, trying to get the lighting right was a real PITA. I seriously think it's time to build a light box.

The strap is a little darker than I thought it would be, not sure if this is how they come new as mine is "previously loved". The seller stated it to be 95% condition. It's 115/95 24x22.

I want to thank Gus (GBJIV) for the invitation to go in on purchasing these OEM watch stands with him, they are a really cool addition to my PAM collection.

Great choice on the JV Nubuck Gold. Its one of the best straps for for a PAM.No question !!

The strap is a bit dirty, thats why its darker.Nubuck doesnt have a protective layer.Laid bare,so to speak. It accumulates grime and dirt quickly. Its only natural from normal wear.Just take a sponge and liquid soap, wash the nubuck side thoroughly and place in front of a fan to dry.I have done it with mine ...................... It does not disintegrate !!! and it looks brand new !!!!

Sounds scary, but I may give it a shot and see what happens, kinda liking the patina'd look.

The patina gives it a lot of character, but after a while it becomes unequally dark, with shiney pathes, from dirt and grime. Then wash it.
Have seen Nubuck restorer, but havent used it.May darken it and I dont want that.Strap looks brand new after a wash with sponge and Liquid soap. So,thats what I will stick too.Now and then, not too often.

HEY, the stand looks awesome!!! Love it. need to take some pics of mine with my stand!!! Love the strap. Can't wait to get one myself. Let us know how Chris's suggestion goes. He is incredibly knowledgable - so, I am positive it will go well.

I am so tempted to figure out how to get down to S. Africa for his GTG... Would love to meet him and of course visit that amazing part of the world.

I did think about getting a toothbrush out, but in the end i like the aged look, i'm more into dark straps so this just about comes into that category and suits me just fine

The only thing that's obvious with the pictures is that the UK isn't as shiny and warm as Florida, my arms are whiter than snow, it was cold when i took the photo and the minute my jumper was rolled up the veins disappeared and the goosebumps came up
