...we need Orchi and Jeff Hess for this...
...I personally see alot of these and the Solar brands. I do know that the Solars were sold predominantly in the Canadian marketplace. I presume that Dennison was the Solar equivalent in England.
...seems that they use the Tudor movements in the cases. ...I googled Dennison, but could not find any definitive info about the use of varied mvmts in the cases. ...let's hope they jump in. Stan. |

Aaron Dennison is known as the "father of American Watchmaking". He started Waltham. When the going got tough he moved to Birmingham UK and started his watch case company and he (and later his company) continued to make cases for many great brands (especially Rolex) clear into the 60's if memory serves.
I would have to look at this one for a few minutes but at quick glance all seems well. Jeff Hess |

While I know nothing of the caseback, I was sitting here myself scratching my head at that dial. That's horrid.

Well,
I guess I am in the minority. (again!?!0 :) I think the listing is fine. Case is genuine as is the movement and he DOES DISCLOSE that the dial is restored and even uses that wonderful euphamism "California dial" which I really dislike. But he disclosed and he did NOT put the word rolex on the dial so ... looks to me like a righteous (if ugly) listing. Jeff Hess |
