If the river were whiskey and I was a diving duck.... I’d dive upon the bottom, baby I’d never come up.

I just picked up a M10, as well. It's a very easy drinker, although not as complex as I would hope. To me, they are two completely different beasts. I've been a fan of the Jim Beam Heritage Collection for years. Baker's 7 was my first real bourbon I sat and sipped on, before I knew much about the juice. I've enjoyed Basil Hayden in the past, and Bookers and Knob Creek are some of the best high-proof booze for the money. But if you don't like the Beam "funk" (that nutty flavor that is present in all of their stuff), you should pass on the Little Book.

One thing I noticed on the M10 label is that is says "Bottled by Michters" which leads me to believe that their 10+ year old bourbon isn't theirs....? Can anyone confirm or deny that assumption?

Not a huge weller fan, pretty much the only one I drink regularly is OWA but I do have the collecting gene so couldn't help getting every iteration from the last 4 years. The older paper label and gold veins aren't worth the inflated secondary so these will have to do for now...

I'm a big Weller guy and I'm chasing the CYPB and Full Proof pretty hard right now.

Totally inflated prices IMHO based on fake-rarity. Unfortunately if you go through secondary you'll pay through the nose but I hear ya, once you catch the bug it's hard to fight off.

I am pretty sure it’s Old Forester - they keep it pretty tight lipped. It’s not MGP or Dickel I know that for sure.

It’s essentially a lower end birthday bourbon

Thanks, it wasn't cheap either and I already opened it so I wouldn't be tempted to sell it LOL

I saw the Dak picture of this Makers Mark the other day so I thought I'd give it a go. Added a Red Spot as well. One of my favorites.

The Whisky Thread

Went to my usual place yesterday morning to pick up an Elijah Craig Barrel Proof my guy texted me about, and saw the Little Book Chapter 2 in the cabinet, the last one. Said I’d take it, as well, since I wanted to complete the set, and would have to go online to find the first edition (2017). He says “Hang on”, runs in the back stockroom and comes out a few minutes later with one that he’s been holding on to for over 2 years! I said you know what, I’ll take another bottle of Chapter 3 for the bunker, and just like that, I’ve got the vertical collection. Very excited for these!

And I still got the Elijah Craig BP

Haha, you can if you want! I have the 11 Year Old Fitz BiB and I've never been too big of a Four Roses fan, but admittedly haven't delved into the library as much as I probably should have!

Hello All!

My first post! I've been following this thread with fascination and even joined this forum so I could see pics of those fabulous bourbons and scotches!

Seeing photos of all these unicorn Buffalo Trace bottles (some opened!), it makes me wonder - what whisky acquisition would be the equivalent of buying a white dial Daytona at MSRP?

I did a Stagg vs. Blanton's SFTB comparison in Paris a few weeks ago. Blanton's won by a mile. Stagg didn't have much flavor or bite. I was shocked.

While in London I was able to find an Old Rip 10 Yr for $150 USD, Weller 12 for $80 USD, and while in Paris I found a Blanton's Gold for $90 USD. Not too bad all around.
