New Rolex owner and waitlist question
Glad to be part of this new forum!!!
I have been eyeing a Rolex for the past 5 years and finally felt I was in the right place in my career. Went to Mayors and didn't see what I wanted and was able to order it. 36mm DJ, Flute, and Silver Dial. Mayors got the watch in about 3 weeks for me. The next Rolex I want is a SS Sub (no date). Forgive me for the ignorance, but Mayors said almost a one year waitlist. I have seen some post where folks got the watches a lot quicker. With the holidays does Rolex pump out more supply? Given the time I also ended up buying a Tudor Black Bay S&G. Glad to be here and looking forward to learning more about Rolex and Tudors. |

No Rolex does not bump up supply for the holidays. In fact they slowly wind down and are pretty much shut down from Dec to Jan

One year isn't terrible in this market with a two watch purchase history. The people who get them in weeks or months are those that have a long relationship with the AD and have spent 10's of thousands over the years, usually. There are of course some "lucked into it" stories out there, but typically the more watches you buy, the more they take care of you and the shorter wait times get. Congrats on the two watches btw. They both look great!

Congratulations. If you do not want to wait, look to our Trusted Sellers and see the inventory. With no discount from AD's and paying tax you maybe close on the price and can have the watch tomorrow by 1030 a.m.

Welcome to the “new” forum.
While this forum isn’t new (been around over 15 years) the topic of Rolex supply has been trending over the past few years. How Rolex supplies watches is a process shrouded in mystery but a blog earlier this Summer distills it down fairly well: https://usa.watchpro.com/corders-col...ign-of-easing/ And the manufacturing process doesn’t lend itself to rapid acceleration even if they wanted to pump up the volume for holiday buying: http://www.ablogtowatch.com/10-thing...makes-watches/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Welcome. That silver datejust is a stunner!
Subs aren’t the rarest of the rare. I would think you stand a decent chance of getting it in 3-6 months if you put a bit of relationship building into it |

Fantastic choice! I feel like the oyster/fluted combo is underrated, and really balances the formality of the watch well. The silver dial is also more rare to see than you’d think. Superb choices on both fronts- the Tudor is a fantastic piece.
I’d say just enjoy your new purchases for now, and stop in every once in a while without becoming a nuisance. You’re likely to find that wait time decrease significantly once trust is established that you won’t be flipping the Sub, which will be a perfect compliment to your DJ 36. |

Congrats on the new watches!
I just picked mine up a week or two ago, a sub date. I visited about 10 ADs monthly over roughly a 3 month period. No purchase history and was told about a year at all of them. I developed a good relationship with my local AD and he was able to get me one. He even let me check out the more desirable models to help me make a decision (these weren’t for sale to me). My only advice is to get to know your sales associate and be patient. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

One year is pretty outrageous for that watch with a purchase history.
