I'd hate to be the poor soul at Rolex who has to field complaints from frustrated shoppers. If they even have such a person.

I mean really, did you think the wait time for the most coveted Rolex was only 6 months? Cut the drama.

It’s easy to anonymously flame an AD or a grey. It’s harder to man up and assume you weren’t slighted. Man up.
I think you need to talk to someone

So...I completely understand you are upset and agree why...however, that watch is gone. My advice would be to step back, take a breath, not bat an eye and say...no problem, I know there will be another.

Always take the high road when you can...that's what's remembered...and usually rewarded.

My .02 under the situation...Ben.

I post on various forums. Mostly automobile. This forum is so far one of the biggest oddities. I posted a negative experience and there was a mix of responses, but several were unsympathetic to outright aggressive. I'm not sure if the rolex culture is one where customer devaluation is normal through the dealer network or not, but the people on this forum seem upset that I'm displeased. Like I should like or expect it. I have cash ready and waited in line. I've been called entitled. If this were any other scenario, a negative response would be justified, although I'm guessing maybe not on this forum. I've allocated rare cars and never been bumped. Not sure how watch culture is totally different.

But regardless, I enjoy my sub, and hope those of you who seem so accepting of unwelcoming customer service find a better way. And to those who responded with mild aggression, seek help.

Cheers

I agree with the owner has a customer who before you on list, SA mistakenly think its your turn and called you and got denied by owner. you should be getting one sooner if not next one as they will fix their mistake, just be more patient . writing up and piss them is not good idea, start with new AD will take long waiting

100% agree with a previous poster. The owner most likely has a white dial Daytona already.

Sorry OP, it seems you got cucked by a whale.

That being said, you are probably up soon. 6-12 months is nothing for this watch.

Have found the same here, OP. I posted a couple of days ago about a dealer's child who was blatantly flipping new hot models on craigslist. I was called a "rat," "snitch," so on and so forth for simply asking how i could report this situation to Rolex customer service because it clearly goes against their company policies. To those who are downright aggressive I say "okay boomer" and move on.

Social intelligence, empathy, and kindness, sadly, are not qualities that any amount of money can buy.

I was once bit by a dog named Boomer, he was a Dalmatian. When I see people post this, it always reminds me of the dog biting me.

You might want to take a bit of that advice yourself. You signed up on this forum specifically to voice your displeasure on an issue while others sign up on the forum for an introduction, advice, information, or help.

Can you really blame others when your first post is to grab pitch forks and call head office? I'm pretty sure it works the same on the other forums if you did the same.

This isn't the luxury car you ordered with specific options that in some way is tailored made for you. On a model, specifically the Daytona, employees within the AD have to fight for an allocation for their clientele. Your sales probably jumped the gun when they saw the Daytona come out of the box. The Daytona was probably another sale's turn or the owner had someone for it.

The good news out of that is at least you are the next one up for that particular salesperson if you are indeed allocated one.

I didn't take your post as a sense of entitlement. Expectations were falsely set. Not cool. Any of us would likely be frustrated and irritated by the same scenario. That said, I agree that Rolex won't do a thing. Deep breath and take your money elsewhere.

Great. But you literally just joined this forum yesterday — apparently just to describe how you were victimized because you believe your six months on the waiting list was surely longer than anybody else's (hence, it was your turn apparently). And you're convinced that if the dealer himself took the watch that he was newer to the wait-list than you were. For those who have routinely waited 8 to 20 months (and a few even longer), your complaint didn't elicit much empathy, but you don't seem to be able to figure out why... other than perhaps in your extensive forum experience, here and elsewhere, you believe that TRF is "one of the biggest oddities."

LOL.

P.S. Your ENTIRE posting history as I type this is 7 posts, all of them IN THIS THREAD, so clearly you have wide berth to judge all that the forum has to offer as an "oddity":

That is a bummer. I can only imagine how frustrating that much have felt. If I were you, I would seek out a new AD to give your business to in the future. In any event, I hope you get your Daytona soon. Cheers!

I think it's time to close this thread... OP should be posting again in 6 months when he has received his Daytona and not gotten "screwed" by the owner.

Why on earth are people still throwing logs on this fire!!! No one screwed anybody. Just another newbie whining about an AD not selling him a watch. AD sells who they want to. Period

If my AD screwed me, I'd term that "AD with benefits."

While we’re giving out life advice I’d suggest developing a thicker skin and the ability to take a ribbing.
