Did Rolex Make A White Gold Sub with Black Dial?

Apologize in advance if this is a silly question. But I cannot find the answer.

Real and sarcastic answers are appreciated (if the sarcasm shows whit).

Thanks members.

in 5 Digit or 6 Digit? I think 6 digit was the first WG model.

I would love to be wrong as i prefer the 5 digit personally. Never seen one though.

Dream: 5 digit sub in WG, anniversary model.

You could buy a stainless w black face. Wouldn’t that suffice?

There has never been a WG Submariner with a black dial.
The so called Smurf (blue bezel and dial) is the only WG Submariner ever made.

WG is a different beast entirely with a different weight and feel.

Well, there is also the Submariner SABR in white gold. Produced in very limited numbers though, and "technically" restricted from diving.
It's the one precious metal Sub I'd love to buy if I were absolutely rich.

Maybe Basel 2020 will make your dream come true. WG is a different beast alright, with a different price. Some of us can’t afford that. Besides you can’t tell any difference

The SABR has a blue dial and is covered with a lot of gems (not a model I would think about in the first place)

It was in response to your statement referring to the 116619LB being the only white gold Submariner ever made....which isn't correct. Regardless of dial or gems, there was another white gold Submariner produced, that is all.

OP never a black dial. Though don’t forget about this one guys, this is actually the first WG Sub Rolex made.

Not sure, six figures seems to be about right. Same pricing area as the Daytona RNBOW.
I believe list was about $90k-ish.

It kind of looks like a design influence for the YM blue dial too doesn’t it? Regardless this is certainly a Rolex imo that can be considered “rare”

I mean wow.....utterly incredible. I cannot even imagine how beautiful those stones look in the right light, and that hue in the blue dial(which you can't really see in that photo), not a coincidence Rolex received it for this badboy. This is the kind of stuff I think about hearing JCB's recent comments on what a watch is, because I would hardly if ever really look at that to tell time.

Can't think they would have a plain one that was indistinguishable from the SS version, but that has changed since the CE models are out due to financial viabilities.

Thank you... It is more art than watch. Hard to take your eyes off the watch. Rolex hand selects each sapphire which are natural stones (not heat treated) and each slightly get darker as you go around the bezel. Not everyone's cup of tea, but if you like unique... Hard to beat.
