Flat 4 insert on a proper 11610LV is one of the distinctive attributes of the true 50th anniversary submariner (2003 production year). Its this first production year that carries a price premium in the market.

A full set can run $6k - $10k more vs the subsequent years.

That photo is suffering from post-processing misaligned pixels - and the image has several glitches around the bezel.

I circled them in red - and it is the cause of the problems noted in the 0’s in 20 & 40. In other places it’s seen as a misalignment on the bezel’s outer edge.

These are not on the bezel itself - this is in the image itself. It’s been poorly digitally done. It often happens in overlays and it’s called alpha dithering.

That’s wishful thinking. Unrealistic to think you can currently purchase a Kermit full set “flat four” for 6K-10K. More realistic is 20K up>

Not a LV but a LN mine is a K (2001) and is a flat 4.

Not sure if that helps

16610lv Serial Number Question

As others have indicated in previous threads, RSC is servicing LV watches and sometimes replacing the inserts with flat 4, at this moment. I like to think about a flat 4 being “proper” and an indicator of a 2003 production piece - indicating it’s from that year, the actual 50th anniversary. But that’s my perspective.

However, beyond that personal sentiment, flat 4 feels like hype. If I send my z-serial LV away for service and have a damaged insert replaced, it’s very possible to have it come back with a Flat 4 insert.

YMMV

I’m pretty sure there is a slight difference in the service flat4 and the original

Good point. There could be. In fact, I bet there is. The various insert versions are complex and I’m no expert. I just love my LV! Cheers.
