Refinishing/re-sandblasting Yacht-Master bezel

Has anyone has his YM bezel refinished/re-sandblasted by an RSC?
How much did it cost and time to wait?
Is it true the only RSC in Switzerland has the equipment/capability to do it?

No, several independent watchmakers can do it also. It's not that difficult nor expensive

I am not sure about that... I recently read on a post here (from UK) that RSC does not even polish the YM bezel. Only option is to replace it which is not cheap at all. And I have never seen a re-sandblasted YM bezel from independent watchmakers.

Bas did some fantastic work on a YM bezel.

Rolex refinish the bezel as part of their overhaul, no extra cost. Unless of course the bezel is damaged beyond refinishing and needs replacement, which is not cheap (a platinum bezel is around $1500 apparently). My local RSC confirmed to me over the phone they can refinish the plat bezel depending on its condition.

Thanks for posting.
Incredible the amount of misinformation out there.

I cleaned by bezel w a Cape Cod polishing cloth after a hiking trip. It made it super shiny. I hope I can still get it refinished.

I heard also RSC in my country does not polish the bezel too. Not sure if 'refinishing' is the same thing.

What I have heard so only RSC in Switzerland has the equipment to take the bezel apart. I guess Bas and the other ones that
refinish it do it in one piece.

Was wondering if it's safe to manually sand it with a sandpaper?

No, please don't try anything other than sandblasting. That will not end well.

I just went to the local RSC; they'll do the sandblasting + polishing for USD 195. Will be able to claim it in a week. Apparently, they cannot do just sandblasting but it has to be an overall polishing. Happy that it is quite inexpensive.
