Early Morning Coffee and my Rolex
In New York City for a holiday shopping weekend with my beautiful wife and our two children. Woke up early and meandered downstairs to the café with my TT 1967 ref 1625 DateJust, in the wee hours, for a cappuccino.

Not too cold here in the city, but rather wet and windy this weekend. My wife and I visited the luxury watch section on the first floor of Macy’s and their Rolex collection was very nice. I succeeded in convincing Teri that she’d rather a white-dial, 26mm lady’s Datejust with jubilee bracelet rather than the Cartier Tank she’s lusted after! Now, to find one! While I couldn’t live here, it’s really been a very nice weekend here in Gotham with Christmas trees, ice skaters, and the whole Christmas “mood” that has taken over the atmosphere here.

Rockefeller, while the epitome of “Christmas in the City,” was sheer craziness - absolutely! We also walked the five city blocks from the Hotel Pennsylvania to Bryant’s Square, where they had (what must’ve been) an 80’-tall Christmas tree, beautifully adorned, and large enough for little kids to hide underneath! The shops in the square were reminiscent of Germany and hosted everything from glass-blowers to booksellers. Despite hot chocolate at $5 per cup, it truly was a nice time to walk arm-in-arm with my wife through the hustle and bustle.

Love the City this time of year. Could not live there but both of my kids live in Brooklyn and love visiting! If you get the chance to get down to Hudson Yards visit the "Watches of Switzerland" - great selection.
