It occurred to me that I didn’t give you any alternatives.
I have had the Balvenie 15 many times and had a couple bottles years ago. I don’t remember it being particularly extraordinary, though good enough to drink at happy hour and sip at home. So, solid. But not good enough for me to grab a few back up bottles. Having said that consider these that you should be able to find. I have all in my cabinet now. Glenfiddich 14 bourbon barrel. Not the most complex, but not too oaky. Add a couple drops of water. It opens to my nose/palate. Glenlivet Nadurra 16. Cask strength and not chill filtered. This is a winner. I actually like this one raw and straight. For manly men. ![]() Glenmorangie Astar. It wasn’t my favorite, but good for the price and probably better than the GL14 and more complex. Update us if you find a winner we should try. ![]()
