Interesting, educational video on Japanese horology

Just finished watching this video and wanted to share. It starts off talking about how Japan used an unequal time unit to measure time prior to using the western 24 hour clock. The unequal time method had 6 units between sunrise and sunset, and 6 sunset to sunrise.

It goes into clocks and wristwatches. Seiko is featured prominently in the wristwatch section, specifically Grand Seiko.

BEGIN Japanology - Watches & Clocks

27:22 long and I at least found it really interesting.

This is a great programme. I've watched it a couple of times (and posted about it before). I've watched a lot of those Japanology progs, as they used to show them on tv here in Hong Kong.
