5712 or 5726

Hey guys,
What are your thoughts on deciding between the 5712 and 5726 blue dial?
Thanks

I have both (but the grey dial 5726/1a) and to me, the 5712’s thinner case/bracelet make it wear more comfortably and there’s just a little more pizzazz to the dial. The 5726 blue being all monotone (there is no contrasting ring around the 6 o’clock subdial) was a slight miss for me.

Ultimately can’t be disappointed with either if you have the fortunate opportunity to purchase either in today’s market.

I like the blue on the 5726 more. It looks less grey vs my 5712 in most lights.

Thanks for your thoughts.. I have not seen the 5726 blue dial in person but the pics seem to have less of the blue-Black-grey tones that I notice on the 5711/5726.

I saw a pic posted by watchsuperstar and it also appears to me that the 5726 blue is less grey than the 5711 and 5712 blue.

It's hard to capture side by side in a picture. The difference is slight but to me the blues are different between my 5726a/5712a side by side. The thing you notice immediately is the 5726 stays very blue in most lights while the 5712 turns grey a lot of times.

Your posts about the 5726 blue have just added 6 months of wait to my 5726 blue.

Sensui,
Thanks that helps out a lot! Did you acquire the 5726 recently?
I just received 5711/1a-001 white dial yesterday and moving forward with my AD I want to get a blue dial in the near future. I figured I would focus on a different movement than the 5711 and choose one the these discussed. The asymmetric dial is interesting but I’m not totally sold on it. The annual calendar and what appears to be a slightly different blue dial on the 5726 might be the way to go for me..

5712 by far. The uniqueness of the dial, sleekness of the case and the most beautiful automatic movement in the market. It doesn't get much better than this.

Agree, OP's 5711 white and a 5712 would make for a nice one two punch. I just don't like Patek's ACs much, Nautilus or not.

That could be persuasive for me, always felt the blue was too greyish on the 5711, on the 12 it is more disguised with the comps on the dial, so I always preferred that model, plus sleek case and micro rotor.

I did get the watch recently. It was October of last year.

Congrats on the white 5711...my personal feeling is that since you have the 5711 you should pick the 5726 if you can. Don't get me wrong I love my 5712 but the 5726 is very complementary in my opinion after having either the 5711/5712. I still don't love the 24 hour indicator hand but the symmetry of the dial, increased wrist presence (a little thicker but still wears way sleeker than any Rolex sports watch including the Daytona), killer blue gradient dial, and an actual complication really seals the deal for me as a complement.

Saw the 5726 at an event recently. Dial was more blue than the 5711 or 5712. 5726 blue dial has more pop for me due to the blue/grey colour variation and appears to be the colour of the old 5711 blue dial.

I like ultra thin watch so I would choose 5712.

12 is slimmer and more comfortable. Micro rotor movement and complication is more interesting to look at. Had the 5726 white and prefer 5712

I've tried on both and ended up getting the 5712. So that gets my vote

Totally different watches. 5712 is a complicated 11. It’s thin, truer to the original Genta design and has a great asymmetrical dial. The 5726 is a GrEAT annual calendar. It’s thicker with a great wrist presence but is a sport version of a calendar watch with a layout that exceeds even the 5740 in a way. Love the window format as opposed to the dial format. Highly recommend both but if I had to pick only one I would have to go 12 simply because it’s like wearing air.
