My boss recently told me that I am too nice to our colleagues. Not even just my subordinates... too congenial toward everyone as a whole. He said I will never advance far if I am not more closed off and "sincere." I told him that it is out of character for me to behave that way, and that I wouldn't want to advance if it means compromising my values. That whole conversation has really been weighing on me. Thank you for reminding me that success can come without treating those around you poorly. If ever you are looking to hire an MBA student/accountant who wants to pivot to an operations role, let me know. You seem like my kind of boss |
