Incoming! First time owners!

Hi everyone, was shopping for a push present at the end of year for my wife before she delivered our first child.

Most of the ADs in town couldn't get me 178274 and was offered to be on the waitlist instead.

Finally, on boxing day strolled into another AD wanting to put our names for the wait list. Sales lady instead asked us if we will like to order the piece with a deposit placed.

In the meanwhile she will also lookout for an Air King for myself.

Fast forward, waiting anxiously for a few weeks and finally received a text from AD she has a piece for me from Jan Shipment.

Pulled the trigger yesterday! Love the watch when I finally see it physically.

Looking forward to my wife piece to arrive in the next shipment or so.

What a way to celebrate our birth of our baby boy!

You guys are experiencing the "Rolex Way". It starts with the usual diver, then other professional models....then you realize the Datejust looks good, before long you're looking at photos on TRF and realize....man I like this watch.
It's Rolex witchcraft. Like I tell my wife, All Rolex are beautiful, I just buy the ones I can't live without. For me that's just two, but man do I love all the models, even the YM, especially in ss, the blue bezel looks incredible in person.

I didn't like the Airking until I read about the history of this dial and it's association to the racer car and it's instrument panel. It all made sense, it's another beautiful Rolex.

Congrats! Such a unique piece from the Rolex lineup, under-appreciated IMO.

Congrats on the birth of your boy and the AK purchase. One day you will pass the watch to him.
