What color strap goes best with a black watch?

Olive green? Khaki?

Also curious what colors don't work, in your opinion

I would say it would depend on what color the dial is. Do you have any pictures of the watch in question?

Both of those options you mentioned are good, however I would probably go with something brighter to be honest. It depends on the color of the dial and also personal preference of course. Not everyone likes a strap that is orange, blue, green, yellow, red, etc... and rightfully so. But a black watch would be great with one in my opinion, again depending on dial color.

I would say almost any colour strap can go with a black case, so you just need to be careful of clashing with the dial!

I have a black watch with a green dial. I have two straps I wear with it - an olive green with black stitching and black hardware from Erika’s Originals, and an all black also from Erika’s Originals. The all black looks pretty good, but I almost exclusively wear it with the green.

I would agree with both previous posters, most anything should go with it but it will largely be driven by dial color and any accent colors on the dial.

If you have a particular watch in mind, feel free to post a pic and I’m sure people would make specific recommendations.

Here’s mine as an example.

So if it's a black dial and black watch, would only black work or a bright color too?

I would say back dial and black case gives you the most versatility. I think pretty much any color strap would go with that.

It's a black case and black dial, with white markers and white hands

I think combinations like these would look good, although I would go with black hardware with whatever strap I chose. Other posters may be more imaginative than I and offer other options.

I think any color you like works, of course with a blacked out piece you'd probably want black hardware. If you don't want to break the bank check out Barton straps, you can pick and choose options, they are a quick release strap. I have a few of their silicon straps for my Tudor Ranger and their pretty nice. I like the light grey one, I orderd the black clasp on that one. Can't find pic right now.

I have a dark chocolate brown strap on my Sarb033. Has a nice casual look.
