Tudor Valjoux 7750 questions has this happen to or maybe someone could explain?
So I have a valjoux 7750 tiger From 1999 I’m pretty sure it was never serviced.
the watch slowly lost time over the time about two years until the point I was losing 15-20 min a hour. I stopped wearing the watch and put it in the safe until I got time to give it a service. a year passes and I’m ready to take it for service so I wind the watch to see how much time it’s losing. I wind it fully starts running on the 2nd or 3rd turn then give it a shake to get the 7750 wobble. 3 days later im wearing it night and day and it’s still keeping good time can someone give me an explanation still gonna give it a service but I’m holding off now Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Maybe when you noticed it wasn’t keeping good time your main spring wasn’t fully wound? Keep an eye on the watch and be sure to fully wind it a full 40 rotations.
Honestly I would turn it in for a service anyway. I am not sure when the cutoff was but I don’t believe they were using synthetic lubricants pre 2000. Also gaskets could be dried out thus compromising water resistance of the oyster case |

The longer you wait to overhaul the movement, it could cost more on a chrono.

Let us know what the service costs. I have a couple ETA/Valjoux 7753 movements and am curious what the service costs will be. Thanks

Last year I paid about 450€ to service a Breitling with a 7750 that had never been serviced (I bought it new in 2001).
