DD40 228248, calibre 3255

Honestly I searched, but couldn't find anything. My apologies if this has been previously addressed. My new 2019 DD40 is worn 3-4x a month. when I take it out of the safe i unscrew the crown, wind it 20-30 rotations, set the time, date and day. i lockdown the crown and enjoy wearing it for an evening out. Normally when im setting it, it makes a nice smooth transition, quiet, non resistant move to the next day or date but on occasion, I'll unscrew the crown, wind it and when i attempt to set the date or day I feel tension (some resistance) and the date "clicks" or "pops" when advancing. this doesnt seem proper to me. (Note: I do not set it when the time is between 9 and 3 as i understand this could be detrimental to the movement). what am i doing wrong?
thank you in advance.
