Thinking of picking up this piece, curious if the forum family has any input, specifically if you own or have owned one.

I am also interested in buying the bico. I have seen the bracelet version and loved it. It really popped. But my fear is that the bronze will patina soon and I don’t like the look of the bico bracelet version with patina. So maybe the strap version? Thinking about it.

Many people dislike artificially aged lume but I think it looks rather good on this reference.

I loved the stock photos of the all bronze bezel but when I saw it an AD, it had already patina’s a little and seemed dirty and ugly to me . Disappointing

I own a Divers Sixty-Five with the blue dial and date window at 3 o’clock on a rubber strap. It’s a great looking, care-free weekend and vacation watch that I continue to enjoy without a problem. The only bronze watch I really like is the Oris Carl Brashear, but owning it would be too redundant since I already own the D65.
I understand what you’re saying about the patina issue. I suppose you could use a bronze polish solution to keep it shiny, but I think the point of having a bronze watch is to allow it to develop a rich patina over time. Hodinkee offered a superb LE version of the D65. I prefer it slightly to the model I have, but again, it was offered after I already owned mine and I didn’t want to own two. |

I have a couple of Divers 65's, but neither of them have the bronze on them. They are sharp in person, especially the one on the bracelet.
I wouldn't let the bronze patina thing stop me. One of SA's at my Oris AD has the Brashear and will experiment with different patinas on his. All he does to get it back to like-new is use lemon juice and it returns to new. |
