5119G - buy or not

Hi All,
I have the opportunity to buy a 5119G in white gold - new from an AD. The watch is discontinued and this one is in the safe. I like the look but it has to be wound. Any experience with this watch or thoughts. I’d pay about $20k for it. They are all over Chrono for $15k used. Thoughts?

I had a 5119r. Beautiful watch, and a really classic looking piece. However, I had trouble getting it wrist time, as I felt it only looked right in formal settings.

If I had more formal occasions, I would have kept it. But I ended up selling it.

So I would only move on the 5119g if you think you won’t have an issue finding time for it.

It is a beautiful reference but very formal. I’d say the 5196 is a lot more versatile for a non-complicated PP dress watch.

If you want it, I would go grey. As you mentioned, 5119 can be found in excellent condition used.

Co-aim to build relationship with AD? Still, would go grey. Not worth the premium.

At any rate, I would hold out until the new Calatrava ref are released.

Thanks all! I’m going to hold off and wait for one I must have...this one is not it for the price.
