is this rolex caseback legit?

i acquired a box of watch parts etc at an estate auction a number of years ago, with this caseback in the box. THere were a lot of rolex items, bracelet clasps & diver's extensions that all proved legit.

But something about this caseback worries me, mainly the engraving on the inside surface just doesn't rolex factory quality to me - i'm not by any means any kind of rolex expert so i figured i'd throw this out there for someone more knowledgeable

i can't image someone having so much time on their hands that they'd bother to counterfeit a caseback. Unless they're counterfeiting the entire watch in qty and had to.

Kind of hard to tell since you blew up the pic but it looks legit to me.

Here is a clear pic of what it should look like.

actually i didn't blow it up, i took a high res shot that ended up being 16.xxx x 16.xxx inches, and cropped it down leaving the engraving - i figured that would give you guys a better sense of it

i can reduce it but the engraving does not look anywhere near as clean as the engraving in your caseback

took 5 more shots, this is the best i'm going to get from this camera - not only is the engraving in your caseback crisper / cleaner, the cutting when they dished out the caseback is cleaner.

It looks like a vintage double red sea dweller caseback. I'd say fake because I have never see that "R" font before, but I'm not a vintage expert

Once you sized it to see the details and compare the two, no question it is not legit as Bas pointed out.
