Heard this today
Spoke to a guy today who said that he has written confirmation from a AD that he will have a SS Sub (not sure if it is a date or not) buy the end of 2020 and a SS GMT2 by the end of 2021.
This is from walking in (this year) with no history and buying an PM sub. Anyone else been given a written assurance that they will get what they’ve asked for, and more to the point what is going to happen if they don’t or cannot deliver??? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Never heard of that before...I think the AD will just sell him that watch instead of selling to a flipper or grey.

Yes, I have the same written confirmation from an AD in Arizona for a Black SS Sub Date by November 2020. Walked into store once, no prior purchase history.

I feel that smaller dealers could be cultivating sales. They may not rely on a huge client base, and are probably in danger of losing the franchise. They need to line up future sales and since the worldwide demand is high, no better time for smaller dealers to stack up future sales then the present. This is good for the potential buyer to get onto a list.

My AD called me today and told me within a month I will have pick of either a White dial SS Daytona or a GMT Pepsi.......then I woke up from my dream.

If there is is no penalty for not delivering, then I can write whatever I want on a piece of paper especially if it made my prospective buyers happy.

The purchase of the PM Sub makes this plausible

I also have such beautiful dreams. Seriously, I have been waiting for the black Sub for 5 months and I know who I am in line for. Still very far ...

This is going to depend entirely on the AD. The last Rolex we bought, an OP36 Grape was from a walk in. I went on the list for a TT CHNR in March/April last year and was told 2022 or early 2023. I will be collecting it next week.
Hulk and Pepsi wait list? Forget it. Daytona? Huh? Do we stock that? |

Ask them? Should that not have been in writing also?

I’ve always been told that the AD doesn’t know exactly what they are getting in each shipment but that they get a mix of professional and classic references.
I also have a feeling they often have the SS professionals under counter for just the right buyer |

Seems like a potentially risky move given the inability to 100% forecast deliveries that far out.
