buying new rolex
Hello everyone,
I am buying my first ever watch and it is Rolex. buying from an authorised Rolex retailer but still wanted to check as to what to check and expect when picking up the watch. A very naive question to start with, given it is 2020 would i expect a 2020 model or they could have a stock which was 2019. not sure even it does matter ? Reason i ask is, on most sites i see the watch model years stated, what that year is, is the year watch was made or is the year you picked up from retailer. Do I need to cross check anything to ensure i am getting the 2020 model. Is there anything particular to look out for in warranty card Thanks |

Rolex does not produce watches by model year, like your car might be.
They produce watches by model reference number, and there is always some variance from time-to-time that has nothing to do with the year.

The year you see listed online is likely the date on the warranty card, aka the date it was originally sold. There is no way to tell when the watch was actually made with the current models.
